課程概述 |
The course is aimed to help students understand sensory integration (SI) theory, symptoms/signs of SI dysfunction, assessment based on SI theory, and the SI treatment for children with different subtypes of SI dysfunction.
Student who takes the course will work in pairs to assess a child who is one of our research participants, provide treatment for 50 minutes/week during the class time through out the semester. In addition to the assessment used to diagnose a child's SI dysfunction, other evaluations will be conducted based on the chief problems of each child. Pre-test and post- test will be conducted before and after the intervention
Furthermore, in each 50-minute treatment session, activities providing vestibular, proprioception and tactile stimulation along with just-right challenge as well as table-top activities will be given to the child.
The intervention will be held in Rm 409&413.
